Slowly but surely, all the nooks and crannies of Chicago’s hippest neighborhoods are getting rehabbed, refurbished, and occupied by local aspiring chefs, juice-iers, and fashion forward business men and women. It seems like every week a new store is popping up and with it, a flock of Chicagoans hoping to discover the next newCrain’s cover story. When I saw FELT, a new boutique right off the California Blue Line stop, I literally felt that same urge: to discover and explore and I was not disappointed! The owner, Catherine Dunton, immediately and warmly welcomed my husband and I into her beautifully lit Logan Square boutique with a glass of wine and a beer.
Catherine’s space features local up and coming talent “coupled with established designers”, and offers a variety of accessories, upscale apparel, and unique jewelry. FELT is a shop where you can find a coveted pair of Illesteva sunglasses next to a pair of jeans by Etienne Marcel, an LA-based denim brand. Catherine and her team are super personable and take every question and request attentively and with passion: not only did Catherine offer to have my ring sized, but she also made sure to keep me in mind for the holidays and took my husband’s phone number to stay in touch!
The FELT team prides themselves on individualized customer styling needs and a collection of unique items both classic and on trend. The best part is their Instagram feed, where you can view new items coming into Catherine’s shop modeled beautifully, and you can always be sure to never miss a beat!
