Highland Park is a northern suburb at the Northern edge of the North Shore community about 23 miles north of downtown. Highland Park is bordered by Lake Forest to the north, Glencoe to the south, Lake Michigan to the east and Deerfield to the west.

Ravinia Festival features a 3,300-seat state-of-the-art pavilion, the 850 seat Martin Theatre, the Bennett-Gordon Recital Hall, and five gourmet restaurants. The festival has been attracting lovers of music and dance from throughout Chicagoland since 1899. More than 500,000 attendees enjoy this festival every year. It is one of the oldest outdoor music festivals in the U.S, and every summer from June to September a series of outdoor concerts, performances, and activities are available for residents and visitors alike.
